Prof. Abhishek Nagaraj
Prof. Nagaraj holds a MS/PhD in Technological Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.
Prof. Nagaraj has been involved in entrepreneurship research, teaching and practice since 2008.
Abhishek’s research concerns innovation and entrepreneurship management, especially in digital markets. He has studied the the role of satellite maps in driving entrepreneurship and discovery in the mining industry and in shaping climate-change research and the role of digital information in increasing local business revenues. He has also explored drivers of success on crowd-sourcing and open-source platforms like Wikipedia and OpenStreetMap. He has also been involved with startups both as a founder and as an advisor to early-stage companies in Cambridge, MA and Silicon Valley.
Abhishek has won numerous awards for his research including the Academy of Management Technology and Innovation Management Best Dissertation Award, the Kauffman Fellowship, the Beyster Fellowship, the Wiley-Blackwell Dissertation Award and the MIT Energy Fellowship.
